Here’s what I was focused on on March 10, 2017:

I just booked my flight to Denver for the National Trumpet Competition (March 23-25), where I am provisionally slated to judge in the Undergraduate Division

I’m practicing a lot, making tweaks to my technical approach and passing those tweaks along to students, as well as working toward a few future recital programs.

I am finishing a book review and starting a few music reviews for journals. I have a few ideas for articles and possibly a book that need to be solidified into something that’s actually written down.

The student quintet I coach at Elon is working hard to prepare our April 22 recital. This is the most ambitious performance the quintet has undertaken in the seven years I’ve taught at Elon.

I’m pondering the next year, job-wise.

I’m looking for down-time this summer (that doesn’t get filled with work-related travel) to plan a real vacation – a first for our family.
